Virgin Atlantic Airways saw the celebratory flight of its first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft last Thursday from London Heathrow to Atlanta.  The aircraft called 'Birthday Girl' will subsequently be operated on Virgin's Heathrow to Boston route 6 days a week.

Virgin so far has ordered a total of 16 Dreamliners, and plans to operate them on on other key routes from London to the US East Coast with Washington, Newark and JFK all due to start over the next five months.

The Dreamliner offers passengers larger windows than they are accustomed to, cleaner air provided by an advanced filtration system, and improved storage with larger overhead bins.
Passengers will also be able to make use of WiFi on board at a cost of £14.99 for 24 hours. If they don't wish to use their own devices, every seat has Virgin's latest in flight entertainment system as standard.

It all sounds just great!
