Marriott International hotels have now stopped blocking guests from using personal Wi-Fi devices in any of their managed hotels. They had previously justified the action by claiming that they wished to protect security in meetings and conference areas of the hotel. The resulting uproar led to many customer complaints and the company's about turn.
They say that they are now looking to the FCC to clarify what measures can be taken to protect customers' data.
