Yosemite National Park, the Sierra Nevada, California

First designated a National Park in 1864, Yosemite is more than just a valley - over its 1200 square miles you'll find waterfalls, meadows, ancient giant sequoias, a vast wilderness area and much more.

The park is open 24/7 365 days a year, and charges for entry are made only on a per vehicle basis.

Yosemitie National Park

Lincoln Home Historic National Site, Springfield Illinois

Many thousands of people each year visit the home of the 16th, and one of the most famous, Presidents of the United States, Abraham Lincoln.

Lincoln's home is open between 8:30am and 5:00pm daily apart from Christmas Day & New Year's Day.

Admission to the house is free, but you need to get a free ticket at the visitor centre beforehand - they advise you to get this as early as you can to avoid disappointment.
