The Daily telegraph annual Travel Awards for 2014 have taken place at Banking Hall in central London.
These prestigious awards claim to be the world's biggest reader travel survey.
From a very long list of categories and winners, the following are of note:

British Airways with runners up Swiss Air & Icelandair.
Best Long Haul Airline
Singapore Airlines with Emirates & Virgin Atlantic running up.
Best City

Those competing the survey have the chance to win one of 40 super holidays on offer.
The survey gives a chance for you to vote for your favourites in a total of 13 categories.
In the 2013 survey, New Zealand was top in the 'Best Country' category, Singapore Airlines was the 'Best Long-Haul Airline', and Cape Town won the title of 'Best City'.
