Over 5% increase in Airline Passenger Traffic in 2014

The Airports Council International Europe (ACI) has just published its report on traffic through its members for 2014.

ACI represents over 450 airports in 45 European countries and regularly publishes reports on its members activities.

During 2014 it reports an average increase in passenger traffic of 5.4% over 2013.  EU countries among its members showed an average increase of 4.9%, with those not in the EU averaging 7.3%.

Freight traffic showed an overall increase of 3.6% for the year.

Aircraft movements however only increased by 2.6% due to existing over capacity in the marker being utilised.

Top 3 airports for movements in the area were London Heathrow, Paris Charles De Gaulle and Frankfurt.
