Foreign Office about to give new advice for travel to Greece

With the real prospect of Greece leaving the Euro it's reported that the Foreign Office is about to review its advice to British travellers in the wake of the banking and financial crisis in the country.

It's likely that no definite statement will be made by the FCO until the situation becomes clearer in the next few days.

Fall in the value of the Euro helps holidaymakers

 


Action started last week by the European Central Bank (ECB) to help support growth in the Eurozone has resulted to the value of the Euro falling dramatically against both the US dollar and the £ Sterling.

While this is not good news for helping British exporters, it is very good news for holidaymakers as the value of their spending money will be that much greater.  Perhaps we may even see a reduction in the price of foreign holidays as a result.

Last Friday the £ reached a 7 year high against the Euro at 1.34 Euros to the £.

Over the last year the Eur has fallen in value by around 9% against the Pound.
