How much would you pay for an upgrade?








From Saturday 22 November, German airline Lufthansa has started operating its Premium Economy Class on all routes flown by a Boeing 747-8 from Frankfurt.

For the first time economy class passengers will be able to bid online for an upgrade from Economy to premium Economy Class.

Bids must be entered at least 72 hours before departure and can be changed or withdrawn before that time.  The upgrade selection process takes place between 72 and 36 hours before take off with the successful applicants being notified by email between 48 and 24 hours before departure. The bid price is automatically charged to the credit card on file and an updated e-ticket issued.  Unsuccessful applicants are not charged.

Premium Economy Class passengers enjoy an additional baggage allowance, a welcome drink, upgraded meal service and entertainment.
