Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) expects to handle almost 2 million passengers over the Thanksgiving period making it the busiest US airport over the holiday for the second year in a row.
The increase of 4.8% over last year is attributed to airlines adding more routes from LAX as well as using larger capacity aircraft on existing routes.
To help passengers over the holiday period a moratorium has been placed on construction works at the airport. A number of new restaurants have been opened since 2013 to cater for the increased numbers.
