UK train operator Govia has signed a contract with Bombardier Transportation for 27 new 4-car trains for its Gatwick Express route.
Canadian based Bombardier will produce the trains at its Derby manufacturing facility.
The latest version of the Bombardier Electrostar will be supplied that incorporate easier access for passengers with luggage, improved storage space, two by two seating and WiFi.
This is the second order from Govia in recent times, with the delivery of 116 new air-conditioned carriages for the Brighton to Bedford line due early in 2015.
