3.9% growth in air passenger numbers among EU states

Airports Council International Europe (ACI) has just published its report covering airline passenger traffic for April 2015.

Overall in Europe passenger numbers grew by 3.2% over the previous April, but there were marked differences between EU member states and those outside.

Within the EU passenger numbers increased by 3.9%, whereas outside the growth was only 1.0%, continuing a disparity that has been clear for many months.

Heathrow & Gatwick show growth in April 2015

London Heathrow airport has announced that combined April and March passenger numbers through the terminals increased by 1.2% over the corresponding period in 2014.  Heathrow also reports that it saw cargo volumes grew by 2.2%. For more from Heathrow click here.

London Gatwick recorded a 0.6% increase in passenger numbers for April 2015 over April 2014, and saw a 26th consecutive month of consistent growth. For more from Gatwick click here.

With a decision hoped for soon regarding the preferred location for another runway both major London Airports continue to make there case for the decision going there way.

Easyjet records a 3.8% increase in passenger numbers

Low cost airline easyJet has reported its April 2015 statistics.

Compared to April 2014 passenger numbers increased by 3.8% to just over 6 million. The load factor increased by 1% to 90.8%

The airline also showed a 6.2% increase in rolling annual passenger numbers to just over 66 million.

Ryanair reports 16% growth in passenger numbers last month

Ryanair 'Europe's favourite airline' has announced its traffic figures for April 2015.

The airline's 'always getting better' customer experience program appears to be paying dividends with passenger numbers for the month rising to 9.0 million from 7.8 million in April 2014 - an increase of 16%

The load factor also made a massive improvement, rising by 7% to 91%.
