French Air Traffic Controllers strike results in cancellations

It only seems recently that the French Air Traffic controllers were on strike, but they're at it again resulting in many hundreds of flights being cancelled to and from the UK both today and tomorrow.

Lets hope that whatever is causing the problem gets sorted out soon.

NATS & CAA agree to Independent Inquiry

UK's NATS responsible for Britain's air traffic control has hit out at claims that it had previously been warned by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of potential flights turmoil following a NATS systems incident in December 2013.  They state that in August this year the CAA stated that they were satisfied with NATS investigations into the incident, and the backup plans in the event of a similar occurence.

Following last Friday afternoon's incident that had a major effect on UK airports particularly those in the London area, both NATS and the CAA have agreed that there should be an independent inquiry into the causes of the recent incident, how it was handled and what should be done to make the system more resilient in the future.
